Merihaka (paddock of sea?) from distance. Looks kinda depressed, doesn’t it? It’s a residential area build in the 70’s and 80’s made of concrete housing blocks. It is located close to the city centre by the sea.
Part of Hakaniemi Market square. Close to Merihaka and bohemian residential area called Kallio (rock, not a stone nor music) and posh area called Siltasaari (island of bridge). Hakaniemi is known for many things like Hakaniemi Market Hall and being home of left-wing political parties like social democrats.
